Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

Scientific papers that will be considered for published in the Journal Istinbath must be qualified as follows:

  1. Paper related to Islamic law and sharia economic law.
    1. In the form of conceptual articles or research results articles with the following anatomy:
    2. Conceptual articles: title, author, abstract, keyword, introduction, discussion, summary, conclusion, and bibliography.
  2. Research results articles: title, author, keyword, introduction, method, results/findings, conclusions, and bibliography.
  3. The author’s identity includes: author’s name, institution and email. If the article is created by three people, then the names of both should be listed. If more than three, then the name that appears in the text (article) is the chairman only accompanied by et al., while the group name is included in the footnote.
  4. The article length is 15-30 pages, double space, MS Word, Times New Roman, and font 12 pts
  5. The article is the author's original work and has never been published in another journal. The author submits the original manuscript to the Istinbath website https://www.istinbath.or.id/ or via email Istinbath@uinmataram.ac.id
  6. The article must include abstract in English and Bahasa (max 250 words)
  7. Complete reference using footnote method with the following rules:
    1. Book : Joseph Schacht, An Introduction to Islamic Law (Oxford: The Claredon Press, 1964), h. 22-28.
    2. Translation book : Fatimah Mernisi, Pemberontakan Wanita, terj. Rahman Astuti (Bandung: Mizan, 1995), h.79.

    9. If you reciting the same reference in sequence, simply write Ibid. If the page is different, it is enough to add the page number: Ibid., h. 20.
    10. If the reference is re-summarized intermittently by one or more different references, simply write the last name of the author and the first word of the title of the reference. For example: Zaydan, al-Wajiz..., p. 233.
